BUYER GUIDE / MATERIALS & COLOUR

Choose materials and colours for a custom bag

A good material brief connects the bag’s use, construction and brand look. The catalogue references below show material families used in current Yunshengyuan listings; confirm the exact specification and finish for your project before sampling.

Start with the intended use and bag structure, then agree the outer material, lining, thickness or hand feel, colour reference, logo method and closure. Approve the combination on a project sample.

Material references in the catalogue

Each linked listing is a product reference, not a promise that every variation is stocked. Use it to open a discussion about the exact material, finish and construction for your order.

More components to specify

Outer fabric is only one part of a bag. The inner construction and trims affect feel, structure and day-to-day use.

Lining & insulated layers

Confirm lining surface, colour, wipe-clean expectations, insulation layer and seam finish against the intended use.

Black foam sheet roll used as a padding reference

Interlining, padding & reinforcement

Specify where support or cushioning is needed, plus the desired hand feel and shape retention. Confirm actual layer construction in the sample.

Pockets & compartments

Mark pocket count, location, access direction, divider and closure on a sketch or reference photo so structure can be reviewed.

Photographs may show examples or illustrative references. Confirm project-specific materials, components, prices, minimum order and lead time before approval.

What to include in a material brief

Share the decisions you have made and mark the rest as open questions. This gives the supplier a clear basis for reviewing the design and preparing a sample.

  1. Bag type, contents and intended use; include the device or item dimensions where fit matters.
  2. Outer material and surface appearance; note texture, sheen, transparency or colour reference.
  3. Lining, padding, pockets, compartments, reinforcement and closure details.
  4. Logo artwork, placement, approximate size and preferred application; attach a vector file if available.
  5. Estimated order quantity, destination market and packaging or barcode requirements.

Colour, trims and sample approval

Send a Pantone reference or a physical swatch when you have one. Identify the colour on each component—outer fabric, lining, zipper tape, binding, webbing and logo—rather than describing the whole bag with one colour name. Review the physical sample under agreed lighting and record the approved version before bulk production.

Material selection FAQs

Which bag material should I choose?

Choose by intended use, bag structure, appearance and target cost. Share a reference bag or describe the use case; the material and construction can then be reviewed together.

Can I request a custom colour or material combination?

List the preferred colour reference and the components it applies to. Material availability, colour matching and minimums are confirmed for the selected design and order quantity.

What should I approve before bulk production?

Approve the sample’s material, colour, lining, dimensions, logo, closures and packaging against the agreed specification. Keep the approved sample or revision record with the order.
